The Real Cost of Taxi Dispatch Software in the UK (2026)

Monthly fees are the smallest part of this. Setup charges, per-driver escalation, SMS, card commission and multi-year terms decide what you actually pay. Here is how to work out your true number — and ours, in full.

See the worked examples Compare all suppliers

The one-line version. A £50/month system with a £900 setup fee on a three-year term costs more over that term than a £70/month system with no setup fee and no contract. Headline monthly price is close to meaningless on its own.

The seven costs of a dispatch system

When you compare two quotes, compare all seven of these or you are not comparing the same thing.

Base monthly licence£50 – £150+ for a small fleet£30, covering the first 5 drivers

Competitor details are drawn from publicly available information and third-party comparison sites, and are indicative only. Most suppliers in this market price by quotation, so figures change and vary by fleet size. Always confirm current pricing and contract terms directly with the supplier before making a decision. Two of these deserve extra attention because they are the ones that surprise people. Commission is the big one: on a fleet turning over £20,000 a month, a 10% commission is £2,000 a month — far more than any licence fee in this market. And per-driver charges counted on registered rather than active drivers mean a fleet with 20 working drivers and 35 accounts on the system pays for 35.

What Taxi Dispatch costs, worked through

Our pricing is £30 per month covering the first five drivers, then £2 per active driver. No setup fee, no commission, no minimum term. Which produces:

Active drivers Taxi Dispatch per month Per driver First-year total
5 drivers £30 £6.00 £360
10 drivers £40 £4.00 £480
20 drivers £60 £3.00 £720
40 drivers £100 £2.50 £1,200
60 drivers £120 £2.00 £1,440
100 drivers £120 £1.20 £1,440
No setup fee, so the first-year total is simply twelve monthly payments. Active drivers means drivers who logged in that month.

The per-driver column is the one worth dwelling on: at 40 drivers the effective cost is under £3 per driver per month, against a market range of £5 to £20. That is the whole commercial argument for our model, and it is why we publish it rather than quoting.

The three-year view

Most contracts in this market run one to three years, so three years is the honest comparison window. Take a 20-driver fleet:

Scenario (20 drivers)SetupMonthly3-year total
Taxi Dispatch£0£60£2,160
Illustrative mid-market system A£500£120£4,820
Illustrative mid-market system B£900£89 + £6/driver above 10£6,264
Systems A and B are illustrative structures built from typical published market ranges, not quotes from any named supplier. They exist to show how the arithmetic behaves, not to state what any competitor charges. Get real quotes and run your own numbers.

The point is not that other suppliers are overpriced — they are pricing for a different customer and often delivering more platform. The point is that the gap over three years is usually far larger than the gap in the monthly headline, and almost nobody works it out before signing.

The quote checklist

Print this and ask every supplier the same eleven questions, including us. Any answer that is vague is itself the answer.

  1. What is the total monthly cost at my actual driver count?
  2. Is that per registered driver or per driver who logged in?
  3. What is the setup or onboarding fee?
  4. What is the minimum contract term?
  5. What is the notice period, and does it auto-renew?
  6. Can the price rise mid-term, and is there a cap?
  7. Are the driver app and GPS tracking included or extra?
  8. What do SMS messages cost, and what is a realistic monthly volume for my job count?
  9. Is there any commission on jobs, including network work?
  10. Is out-of-hours support included, and who actually answers?
  11. If I leave, how do I get my data, in what format, and what does it cost?

How much is Taxi Dispatch taxi dispatch software per month?

Taxi Dispatch costs £30 per month for your first five drivers and £2 per month for each additional driver, or a flat £120 per month for unlimited drivers. There is no setup fee and no commission on your jobs. A ten-driver fleet pays £40 and a twenty-driver fleet pays £60. Above that there are two branded options: App Plus at £180 a month adds a web booker and a customer app in your branding, and Branded at £250 a month adds branded driver apps and branded customer apps on both iOS and Android.

Is there a setup fee or joining cost?

No. Setup, tariff configuration, zone building and data import are included at no charge. Several UK suppliers charge £250 to £1,500 upfront for the same work, which is worth factoring into any comparison you make on monthly price alone.

Do you take a commission on each booking?

No. You keep 100% of every fare. Commission-based dispatch platforms typically take 5% to 15% per trip, which on a fleet turning over £20,000 a month is £1,000 to £3,000 gone before costs. Our model is a flat monthly fee regardless of how many jobs you run.

What is included in the £30 per month plan?

The £30 per month plan covers up to five drivers and includes the Driver App, the full dispatcher system and real-time GPS tracking. There is nothing held back for a higher tier: the dispatch board, live map, driver allocation and tracking are all in the entry plan.

Are there any additional charges on top of the monthly fee?

None. There are no setup charges, no activation charges, no app charges and no GPS tracking charges. The £30 monthly fee is all-inclusive. This matters when comparing quotes, because several suppliers advertise a low monthly rate and then bill separately for the driver app or for tracking.

How much does it cost to add more than five drivers?

Additional drivers are £2 per driver per month on top of the £30 base, so a ten-driver fleet pays £40 and a twenty-driver fleet pays £60. Growth scales to any fleet size on that basis. Once the per-driver total reaches the flat £120 Enterprise price, which happens at fifty drivers, Enterprise is the cheaper plan and we move you onto it rather than letting the per-driver bill keep climbing.

How much is the unlimited drivers plan?

Enterprise is £120 per month for unlimited drivers, with no vehicle limit and no minimum term. There is no setup fee. It is the cheaper plan from fifty drivers upwards. If you also want your own branded apps, App Plus is £180 a month and Branded is £250 a month, both with unlimited drivers.

Can I upgrade to unlimited drivers as my fleet grows?

Yes. You can move to Enterprise at any time and all of your existing bookings, driver profiles, history and data carry over seamlessly. There is no rebuild and no downtime — it is a change to your billing, not a migration. We will tell you when you reach the point where it saves you money.

Which plan should I be on?

One to five drivers is Starter at £30 a month. From six drivers it is Growth at £30 plus £2 per active driver, which scales to any fleet size. From fifty drivers the flat £120 Enterprise plan is cheaper, so that is where we put you. App Plus at £180 and Branded at £250 are for operators who want their own branded passenger and driver apps — that is a branding decision rather than a fleet-size one.

What do the App Plus and Branded plans add?

App Plus is £180 a month for unlimited drivers and adds a web booker and a dedicated customer app in your company branding, with all integrations included. Branded is £250 a month and goes further: a web booker, branded driver apps and branded customer apps on both iOS and Android. Both include a dedicated account manager, priority phone support and a custom SLA on request.

Does the bill keep rising with every driver?

Only until the flat plan becomes cheaper. On Growth the £2 per-driver charge reaches £120 at fifty drivers, and £120 is the Enterprise price for unlimited drivers, so that is where we move you. Both prices are published on the pricing page, so you can check the crossover yourself.

Is there a minimum contract period?

No. There is no minimum contract. It is a monthly rolling plan, so you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel whenever you need to. Multi-year auto-renewing contracts are common elsewhere in this market and are the most frequent reason operators tell us they feel trapped with their current supplier.

Do you charge for drivers who are not working?

No. You are billed on active drivers, meaning drivers who logged in during that month. Seasonal fleets and firms that expand for weekends are not penalised for keeping dormant accounts on the system.
